Who i am
Hello! My name is Jackelyn Conway. I was born in Lima, Peru, and later moved to a small town in Colombia called Melgar. It was there that I first felt a deep connection with the beauty of Mother Nature. I fondly remember collecting ladybugs in jars from my mama's garden and watching dragonflies dance above my backyard pool.
When I was eight, I moved to the capital city. Even though I wasn’t near a garden, it never prevented me from appreciating the beauty of the earth. I had many opportunities to see local farms and adventure around.
If I couldn't be surrounded by nature, I turned to painting it. I've always considered myself an artist, believing that God created me to create. My goal is to produce beautiful art that reflects the wonders of His creation. My first painting remains my favorite: the hibiscus flower. I was captivated by it and drew it constantly. Recognizing my passion, my father enrolled me in art classes, leading me to paint various bugs and beautiful creatures.
Eventually, I moved to the United States, settling in the beautiful state of Florida. My teenage years were marked by resistance to putting down roots, as I was definitely in a rebellious phase! However, I planted a hibiscus plant in front of my window, and years later, it grew taller than me, greeting me with its beauty each morning. That moment taught me the importance of patience: good things take time, and the best time to start something is always the present—just like writing this "About Me"!
I began filming my gardening journey and fell in love with the process. There's so much to learn and discover in the art of gardening. I feel passionate about it; it's an endless portal of abundance. And this is just the beginning. It all starts with a seed.
